And sometimes I forget important links...

These are the responses to the original author's article. There's a nice summary at the bottom of the page.

Wow ... some of those folks are a trip.

I do agree that male pastors often have a tendency not to particularly include a female perspective in their preaching, about sin and anything else... or if they do, it's tacked on as a side note, an addendum. I try not to get upset about it, but it hurts to be marginalized ... it hurts, for example, when the guy giving the message about people whose lives have deeply affected him doesn't mention a single female ... it hurts to only hear the male perspective and perhaps not be able to connect my own experience (of sin or whatever else) to what the pastor is trying to say.

Anyway, in the midst of the comment drama, I found this little gem:

"On the other hand, women have always been the backbone of the church and I agree with Ken Shneck, they often are the more passionate followers of Christ."

Is this actually a common belief? And, if so, do the weird gendered ways we think about sin have anything to do with it?

. . .

Oddly/appropriately enough, this just came up for me on iTunes:

"She told me she'd rather fix her makeup / than try to fix what's going on / but the problem keeps on calling even with the cell phone gone..."
